Can't see PDF files

If you can't see your PDF file after clicking on the letterhead style, you probably don't have suitable PDF viewing software loaded. You may download for free from Adobe Systems, Inc. of San Jose, California, USA. Adobe created the PDF file format. There are other PDF file viewers, but they may not open inside your browser in the seamless way that Adobe Reader does. We recommend you use Adobe Reader and Adobe products generally, as we like them and think highly of them.

Acceptable Browsers and Operating Systems

We support FireFox, Mozilla and Netscape browsers on PCs and Macs. We support Internet Explorer on the PC only. We do not support Opera or Safari. Our upcoming mobile version will support essentially all browsers, including Opera and Safari and the browsers in Blackberry, Palm, Sidekick and Treo handheld devices.

Acceptable Characters

The following characters are acceptable to this website. Please send us email if you need other characters. Please do not send us any other characters. In the document editing window, you can create these characters from the drop-down Symbol menu, or you may copy and paste them from this page. You can of course also use keyboard shortcuts appropriate to your operating system.

How does this site work?

We use the HTML editor built into popular web browsers. This editor lets you type online the way you are accostomed to offline, with Word or WordPerfect. You can make words bold and italic and you can change colors and add international characters. When you are done editing, you select a letterhead style from dozens of free designs we give you, or you can upload your own. At this point, we have enough information to create a high quality PDF format file, which we do on our servers. You do not need to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. The PDF creation takes just a second, and we send you back the PDF instantly. To our knowledge, there is nothing quite like this site on the Internet.

Borderless Printing

Many of the letterhead designs on this website are designed to be printed on printers that print to the very edge of the paper. Many newer ink jet printers have this capability. Most laser printers do not. Since you can buy very high quality ink jets for under USD $100, we suggest you buy such a printer. You will love it, and wonder how you ever lived with a laser printer or an early ink jet. The quality of the Canon Pixma iP3000 printer is outstanding, and it sells at Amazon.com in the US for less thank $100 including shipping.

Even borderless printers need to be configured in order to get borderless output from them. Please examine the printer dialogs for your printer. You are looking for the borderless option on plain paper. We have many designs that do not go to the very edge, and these designs will print well on bordered and borderless printers.
